Hi jan I just would like to know if you take a sick leave of 2days and the company suspected that you should do a covid test befor you come back to work so for the day that you do not go to work up untill you received you results sould that be on sick leave
Sick leave would be the best fit in most cases where the employer insists on an employee staying at home due to the risk of Covid – see our article at the following link: https://www.labourwise.co.za/labour-articles/covid-19-sick-leave-crisis-looming
Who can we contact to confirm the official way of completing a UI-2.7 form for maternity leave employees as most of them come back saying the labor department says something is incorrect on it. We need to know the standard correct way as we have 28 000 employees to complete these forms for.
Your query has been sent to our sister company, Labourwise Human Resources. Someone will be in touch with you.
What is the procedure to follow for request to go into 14 day isolation if an employee claim to have been in contact with someone that was in contact with someone that was tested positive.
The employer and employee have to agree. You need to fill in the relevant forms – Illness Benefits (14 day Quarantine) heading at https://www.labourwise.co.za/downloads/topical-temporary-download
Good day Jan. I have to apply for UIF Ters Illness benefit for one of our employees.
Downloaded your documents, do I just send an email as I don’t see the option on the online site.
Anke
Two points:
Point 1. At this stage it would seem that the way to submit it is via the email addresses towards the end of the FAQ’s document at https://www.labourwise.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Covid-19TERS-FAQ-with-calculation-guidelines_2020-04-27.pdf
Point 2: At this stage it would seem that the C19TERS directive will not be extended beyond June. This in all likelihood means the “quarantine” illness benefits would only be available for illness until the end of June (We have not been able to verify this, though). However, employees should be able to claim for normal UIF (reduced worked time) benefits – also available on our free downloads page.
We have less than 10 employees and have received TERS UIF for April paid directly to the employees.
Now when I need to load the application for May the site requires Approval/Acceptance Letter between Employer and Employees as well as Proof of payment of TERS UIF employee. We obviously do not have such as the UIF was paid directly to the employee but the site does not allow for any other option. Please assist with advice
Instead of the “Approval/Acceptance” letter, you can submit a letter explaining your particular situation.
We see all the guides we follow but I personally applied for the uif and get an SMS promised to get the response after 35day till today I even doubt there is any claim which is being done yet.
You should be able check the status online on the UIF portal. Alternatively phone the helpline 0800 030 007
I have manually filled in the spreadsheet for UIF claim for my gardener and domestic worker and have converted it into a CSV file and emailed it back to covid claims.
Is this all I need to do as the Employer.
As long as you have followed all the prescribed steps you should be ok.
Very helpful
Thanks for the relevant forms
This was very helpful
How can I get the forms to my domestic workers if they are not at work and they all don’t have email and computers(U12.1)
You will have to wait until the end of the lock-down. Alternatively, you can submit claims via the Covid-19TERS process which is all online.
What email do we use to send Temporary lay off forms to. This is from 01 July
If you are referring to UIF claims for terporary lay-off after 1 July, you need to submit the UIF (Reduced Work Time) forms – see https://www.labourwise.co.za/downloads/topical-temporary-download
